***Update 01/25/15 3:30 pm***

Good afternoon.

Eric is flourishing under the care and attention he is receiving at Kaiser. Although still non-verbal, he is able to motion a thumbs up or thumbs down on a fairly consistent basis. Let's just say there have been a few laughs with the question and answers sessions that have ensued.

Additionally, Eric will soon be transferred to the Acute Rehab facility. Once again, Folsom Fire will have the honor to transfer him. Alicia remarked today that "through all this, Eric still finds a way to let his personality shine" and she referred to how Eric put out his hand for a fist bump as someone was leaving the room. The gesture brought a smile to everyone.

The continued support from his family, fire family and friends has been profound.

  1. I hope we are allowed to see him soon, As my family and I have known Eric since he was in Kindergarten. It sucks that we are unable to visit. My parents love Eric like their son and I know Eric loves them like parents. Eric we wish the fastest recovery, so we can finally see you brother... Miss you with all of our hearts! **Perez Family <3***
